Southern Food Heritage Day is one that highlights and celebrates all of the best food and drink items the South has to offer. Southern food is said to be very diverse and include roots from a unique blend of cultures and traditions. Historically, the southern region of the United States has been a melting pot for a myriad of cultures and ethnicities which has in turn affected Southern cuisine. Many of the most popular foods in the South have been notably influenced by African, English, Scottish, Irish, German, French and Native American cultures.
In honor of Southern Food Heritage Day, we wanted to highlight some of the ways that Kimble's serves and enjoys a variety of typical Southern foods such as Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Mac and Cheese, Biscuits and more!
Kimble's offers good old fashioned Southern foods through both our Catering and Micro Markets departments. Kimble's Micro Markets offers items like Fried Chicken Fingers, Mac and Cheese and Mashed Potatoes as part of the fresh food rotation in the markets. Kimble's Catering not only offers these items individually; but they also offer many of these items in Signature Stations.

This Signature Station includes Mac & Cheese prepared in a variety of ways including Muenster with Prosciutto, Brie with Lump Crab Meat, Spinach Alfredo, & Four Cheese Blend. This cheesy deliciousness is typically served and enjoyed in an acrylic martini glass.
Pictured above is Kimble's Mashed Potato Martini Station. Made from Mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes or Mashed Sweet Potatoes, this station's mash appeal comes from the eternal struggle between sweet or savory options. Toppings for the Yukon Gold Potatoes include Sour Cream, Cheddar Cheese, Crumbled Bacon and Scallions. Toppings for Mashed Sweet Potatoes include Brown Sugar, Pecans, Whipped Butter, and Honey & Ricotta Cheese Spread. This crowd favorite is usually served and enjoyed in an acrylic martini glass.
